Short description of the project

The aim of our project is to make students know better the atmosphere and the spirit of the 60s when Europe was divided into West and East. This decade gave foundations for present societies: implementation of Treaty of Rome, social movements, fights for freedom, revolt of the young, beginninngs of consumption society, new forms of artistic expression…

Together with the students we will “travel “ back to the 60s researching history, social studies, theatre, cinema, applied arts, music…

We will analyze writings, things, photographs, posters, music, family memories. We will create tools allowing us to work in the intercultural way using interactive methods: our website, exhibitions, the film club, gathering data.

We are convinced that the past helps one find oneself in the future and that “one cannot allow the memories of West and East to turn their back on them¹”.This is forming of the European citizenand building European awareness through sharing memories.
